MORE THAN
A HORSE FARM
More Than A Horse Farm sits on 17 acres of land on the Selma to Montgomery Trail and consists of 7 rescue horses, 5 dogs, 6 cats and 2 rabbits. We use art, history, and horseback riding as resources to heal children and mature riders. Our goal to offer space for underserved communities of color.
OUR GOAL
More Than A Horse Farm established during the height of government lockdown during Covid in 2020. We provide 1 hour sections for students, families, homeschoolers, and children with special needs. We support military families and communities suffering from post traumatic stress during lockdown.
More Than A Horse Farm is an outreach ministry of Chaplain Curtis Browder Ministries and Faith Crusade Montgomery Rescue Mission.
During the first month of COVID, FCMRM created a space for families, veterans, children with autism, and homeschoolers to find isolation relief during the government shutdown in 2020.
We began using rescue horses to comfort neighbors in need of support mental health during quarantine.
FCMRM provides equestrian therapy, art, history and nature as wholistic resources for communities suffering from various forms of trauma.
After a year and two successful youth camps, we are in the process of developing the More Than Horse Farm for continual holistic support.
